The Dutch International has performed impressively thus far this season. The youngster has netted an impressive 10 goals while providing five assists as well, in 17 Eredivisie appearances.
His good performances at De Grolsch Veste have not gone unnoticed, as Newcastle United and Everton have expressed keen interest in signing the 21-year-old forward in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The young striker has admitted to his interest of competing in the English top tier in the seasons to come. However, he has also asserted that the speculation linking him with a move away from the Tukkers will not affect his performances at De Grolsch Veste.

“The Premier League is a really good competition and I think that the type of football played there is suited for me. They play a lot with long balls and crosses, while some teams play really good football”, De Jong concluded.
The versatile forward has an ongoing contract with the Enschede giants that will keep him at De Grolsch Veste until the summer of 2014. Although the club management would not like to lose their prized asset in the upcoming transfer window, an offer in the
region of 14 million Euros could prove too tempting for the Enschede-based outfit to reject.
