The Tukkers will face RVVH in the second round of KNVB beker Cup on Wednesday, and the Brazilian-born Dutch defender has expressed optimism that his side will progress through to the next round.

The 24-year-old, who has represented the Enschede giants in over 100 games, has stressed that his side must take perform in the same manner as they are in the league. The Tukkers have thus far managed to win all of their six matches
in the Dutch top flight.
“We are unbeaten this season playing for Eredivisie. The team is playing very well and we have to seize this moment in the Dutch Cup. Even playing with a team far inferior, sometimes in this type of competition there are many surprises.

The highly-rated central defender went on to insist that the outfit from Enschede can compete successfully for silverware in the ongoing season.
“This year we have the team to play for titles. This is a different competition, where only one game is played to pass the round. So, we cannot slip up”, Douglas concluded.
The former Joinville defender has been plying his trade at De Grolsch Veste since the summer of 2007, and has remained one of the most consistent players in the squad in recent years.
The 24-year-old, who has thus far won four pieces of silverware while wearing FC Twente colours, has an ongoing contract with the Enschede giants that is due to expire in the summer of 2013.
He would be keen to add more trophies to his showcase before moving away from De Grolsch Veste.
