FC Twente’s Douglas stresses his side will do everything to win – UEFA Europa League news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede defender, Douglas, has asserted that his team will do everything to win in their upcoming UEFA Europa League group stage encounter. The Tukkers will lock horns against Fulham FC at De Grolsch Veste on Thursday, December 1.
The Enschede giants have already booked their place in the round of 32. Occupying the top spot in group K, they are three points ahead of the second placed Fulham.
Despite having made it to the next phase of Europe’s second tier competition, the 23-year-old has stressed that his side will look to secure maximum points against the English Premier League outfit in front of their home crowd.
“This actually serves to motivate us to keep playing well and play better and always adding more points. We have a very good campaign and the idea is to reach the next phase keeping this great sequence, so we will continue to seek victories”, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Douglas-c11600 said
while talking to the Dutch media.
The Tukkers have already secured progression to the knock-out stages. However, the Cottagers still need a win to ensure their place in the last 32. The Whites would be looking to secure all three points in Enschede and will put in all their efforts to make
life hard for the home side.
The Brazilian-born Dutch stopper has admitted that the upcoming encounter will be tough, but stressed that his side will do everything to get their hands on another win.
“It will certainly be a game full of difficulties and emotions. The group stage is in its final rounds, we are in good condition, but Fulham will come with everything to win and secure a win. But we will do everything to get another win and finish this phase
undefeated”, Douglas concluded.
FC Twente have thus far performed highly in Europe’s secondary club competition, with three wins and a draw in four matches. In addition, they have yet to taste defeat in the group stage and would be looking to keep their unbeaten run intact when they start
their voyage in the next round.
