The 22-year-old, who arrived at De Grolsch Veste earlier this season in the summer transfer window from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam, had a troublesome time under the leadership of the Tukkers former boss, Co Adriaanse.
The Tukkers management did everything to lure the central midfielder to De Grolsch Veste, and after the transfer was complete, Adriaanse revealed that it was unnecessary and he could have managed without him.
Fer revealed that his former head coach's comments made him feel uncomfortable. Needless to say, the 22-year-old was more than content with the former coach's exit.
“I found those comments very annoying. I came to know about the comments through media. I thought what should I do? But nothing could be done, and apparently, nothing clicked in our relationship”, Fer was quoted as saying to the media.
The Enschede outfit reportedly paid 5.5 million Euros to Feyenoord in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old. However, the central midfielder thinks that the transfer fee paid for him was more than his valuation, as his contract with the Rotterdammers
was going to expire in the summer of 2012.
“I only had a one-year contract left with Feyenoord. I find a strange feeling that Twente paid too much. But it also speaks about the club’s confidence in my abilities. It has certainly put more pressure on me”, Fer concluded.
The Dutch International, a product of the Rotterdammers’ youth academy, started his professional career at De Kuip Stadion in the 2007/08 season. The youngster made 103 Eredivisie appearances and scored 14 goals during his four-season stay in Rotterdam before
arriving at De Grolsch Veste.
