The prolific striker lashes out at the club’s president for not accepting Borussia Monchengladbach’s offer, and insists that the Eredivisie club management does not negotiate properly with other clubs.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luuk-de-Jong-c22956, has hit out at the club president, Joop Munsterman, for mishandling his transfer negotiations with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 21-year-old striker, who has been plying his trade at De Grolsch Veste for the past three seasons, has long been linked with a move away from the Eredivisie outfit this summer.
Newcastle United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Die Fohlen have expressed keen interest in acquiring the services of the highly-talented youngster, with the German club tipped to be the favourites to land his signature before the new season commences.
However, the Tukkers have been locked in talks with the interested clubs in a hope of receiving a better offer for their prized asset before slapping a mammoth 20 million Euros price tag on the Dutch hit-man.
De Jong, who has thus far represented the Enschede giants in 76 Eredivisie matches and netted 39 goals, was extremely frustrated at his club’s intentions, and revealed that none are allowed to take the next step in their career at De Grolsch Veste.
“Joop Munsterman says all players get a fair chance to take a step up to a higher level, but unfortunately the reality is different. I heard other players saying that the Twente management does not negotiate properly, and now I am experiencing that”, the
gifted striker was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch international, who made his debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844 in an international friendly fixture, went on to reveal that several clubs have expressed interest in signing him this summer.
“Munsterman said recently that he has only read about interest in him, but has not heard from any club. However, the reality is that in recent months, clubs from five countries have shown interest, and three went straight to Twente, and Munsterman knows
it”, De Jong concluded.
The prolific striker has an ongoing contract at De Grolsch Veste that runs until the summer of 2014, but it seems unlikely that he would be pursuing his career while wearing the Tukkers’ jersey until the end of his contract.
