FC Twente’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marc-Janko-c23484 denies making a move abroad – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports in Enschede had indicated that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede’s Marc Janko would be making a move away from De Grolsch Veste in the ongoing summer transfer market, as a host of Serie A outfits have been taking keen interest in signing the 27-year-old striker.
However, the tall striker has now denied leaving his current side and revealed that he is confident of having a bright future in Enschede under new coach, Co Adriaanse.
The Austrian International arrived in Enschede at the start of 2010/11 campaign and scored 14 goals in 29 appearances. His good performances did not go unnoticed with Bologna FC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cagliari-Calcio-c38716 taking keen interest in
luring the striker away from De Grolsch Veste. The 28-year-old seemed destined to be pursuing his career in Serie A in the 2011/12 campaign.
Bologna finished 16th in the league table and lacked firepower in their attacking third. Consequently, they are in the market in search of a new striker to strengthen their front-line and see the Austrian International as a perfect addition to
their ranks before the upcoming season commences.
Furthermore, the Austrian ace was also looking to make a move away from his current club as he was reportedly unhappy playing under the leadership of Michel Preud’homme. However, after the departure of the Belgian trainer and the arrival of Adriaanse, the
striker has changed his mind and now reportedly intends to prolong his stay at De Grolsch Veste.
The Dutch trainer praised the striker and revealed that he has never seen a striker as dangerous as Janko. The tactician has earlier worked with the Austrian International during his time with Red Bull Salzburg in the 2008/09 season.
“I have never seen a striker before like Janko who is extremely dangerous”, Adriaanse was quoted as saying to the media.
With a growing list of candidates gunning for Janko’s signature, it seemed unlikely that the 27-year-old would be pursuing his career at De Grolsch Veste. However, FC Twente would now be much relieved with the Austrian International’s decision to prolong
his stay in Enschede.
