FC Twente’s Nacer Chadli agrees to put pen on a one-year contract extension – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from De Grolsch Veste confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede winger, Nacer Chadli, has agreed to sign an extension to his ongoing contract that will see him at De Grolsch Veste until the summer of 2014. The 22-year-old’s current contract runs until the end of the 2012/13 season.
The Belgian ace joined the Tukkers in the summer of 2010 after making well over 75 appearances for AGOVV Apeldoorn. In 33 appearances thus far, the Belgian International has netted seven goals and provided plenty of assists for the Tukkers.
The promising youngster’s performances have attracted interest from a host of English Premier League outfits with the likes of Fulham FC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 being some of the admirers. However, the Enschede giants have always remained keen on holding on to their prized asset.
Moreover, the young winger has also grown in importance following Bryan Ruiz’s move to Fulham in the summer.
For his part, Chadli has openly expressed his love for the club and revealed that his dream is to become a champion with the Tukkers.
“FC Twente gave me the opportunity to show my skills before joining one of the elite European clubs. That’s something I will always remain appreciative for the club. I want to repay this. Last season we won the Cup. My dream is to become the Champion with Twente”, Chadli said while talking to the media.
The 22-year-old, who had remained sidelined since July earlier this year following a persistent knee injury, made his comeback recently in the UEFA Europa League group stage encounter against Odense BK.
The Belgian International played his second match of the season against SC Genemuiden in the KNVB beker Cup and managed to find the back of the net.
Chadli admitted that he had difficulties early on in the match but settled down well as the match progressed.
“The ball jumped off a few times, which was certainly not good at all. Yet, I am not dissatisfied. I ran a lot and encountered no problems afterwards. That is a positive sign. Although I have not yet reached my old level, I am certainly going on the right track”, the Belgian ace concluded.
The 22-year-old’s return to the Tukkers squad has certainly increased their chances of winning silverware by the end of the season.
