http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede defeated Ajax Amsterdam 3-2 at De Kuip Stadion in the KNVB beker Cup final on Sunday, May 8. Nacer Chadli was overjoyed with the victory and believed that every player contributed in the Tukkers Dutch cup glory in Rotterdam.
This was the winger’s second piece of silverware with the Tukkers as he was a part of the outfit from Enschede in their Johan Cruijff Shield triumph. The Belgian International had a smile on his face after his side emerged victorious over an impressive Amsterdam
outfit.
After going 2-0 down in the opening 40 minutes, the Tukkers managed to crawl their way back to level the score-line, and then took the game home in the second half of extra time.
Chadli said, “We fought back in the game impressively. It was not easy to come back from a two goals deficit. But, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wout-Brama-c37023 goal just before the half-time made us much stronger. It gave us strength and we were therefore stronger after half-time.”
The 21-year-old winger was not completely satisfied and believed that his side had the opportunities to finish the game in the regular 90 minutes, though, he maintained that his side was stronger in every department on the field.
Chadli said, “We were late in the finish. There were plenty of opportunities.”
The Tukkers are currently leading the leading table, a solitary point ahead of the second placed Ajax. With three points up for grabs, they have every right to remain confident of successfully defending their Eredivisie title.
The reigning Dutch champions will travel to Amsterdam to play Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena on Sunday, May 15, and Chadli thinks highly of the upcoming encounter.
“That is the hardest, but perhaps the finest game of the year. The focus is now right back on that game next week. Then we hopefully have a reason to celebrate.” Chadli concluded.
The Tukkers know that should they manage to secure a solitary point in the upcoming fixture, they will be crowned Dutch champions for the second time in their history.
