The Primeira Liga giants have reportedly agreed terms with the Eredivisie outfit on a deal believed to be around nine million Euros for the Dutch U-21 International.
Reports from Estadio da Luz confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542 have agreed terms with FC Twente Enschede over a nine million Euros transfer fee for Ola John.
The two clubs had been holding talks regarding a potential summer move for the past couple of weeks, and the Eredivisie outfit has now reportedly accepted the Eagles initial nine million Euros bid for the winger, though, it could
very well go up to 12 million Euros depending upon several clauses.
John is expected to visit Lisbon on May 24 in order to go through his medical, and will put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at Estadio da Luz until the summer of 2017 once he passes his medical.
The 20-year-old started his professional career at De Grolsch Veste in the summer of 2010, and made rapid developments in his game to become one of the key players in the squad.
The highly-talented youngster made headlines for all the good reasons in the recently concluded 2011/12 season, and played an integral role in his side’s sixth placed finish on the Eredivisie table.
John, whose contract at De Grolsch Veste ran until the summer of 2014, netted seven goals while setting up an impressive 15 more in 33 Eredivisie appearances.
His good performances have not gone unnoticed, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Benfica are expressing keen interest in acquiring his signature before the start of the 2012/13 campaign. However, the Eagles were the first to officially
table a bid for the youngster, and then managed to agree terms with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233.
If rumours are to be believed, the Portuguese Liga giants are also interested in signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikolay-Mihaylov-c28019 and Nacer Chadli from the Tukkers. Mihaylov has reportedly expressed his desire to move abroad while Chadli has revealed
that he wants to take the next step in his career.
Meanwhile, FC Twente have already secured the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Groningen-c39119 winger, Dusan Tadic, as the Tukkers management see the talented attacker as a perfect replacement for John.
