FC Twente’s president Joop Munsterman believes Co Adriaanse suits his side – Eredivisie news

The outfit from Enschede were in search of a new manager since Michel Preud’homme left De Grolsch Veste earlier this month to join Saudi Premier League outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Al-Shabab-c38361 Riyadh. The Tukkers’ shortlisted candidates included Steve McClaren, AZ Alkmaar’s Gertjan
Verbeek, Ronald Koeman and Frank Rijkaard.
However, Adriaanse seemed the perfect candidate to guide the Tukkers in the upcoming season.
The Dutch trainer is famous in Netherlands for his successful spells with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. Furthermore, his controversial and unique training approach has always remained his trademark.
After appointing the veteran tactician, Munsterman revealed that his side needed a trainer like him who could steer his side towards success.
“Adriaanse is a top trainer absolutely. He is fit and very ambitious. I think he will fit well with Twente. FC Twente is a unique club and it demands a unique trainer as well”, Munsterman was quoted as saying to the media.
The Reds chairman then went on to reveal the talks held earlier by Kees van Miracles and Cees Lok with the 63-year-old.
“These were not just discussions. They do have seven, eight hours with Adriaanse to discuss his vision of football. It turns out very well and matched with those of our club”, Munsterman added.
The Tukkers president believes that the Dutch trainer has worked with young talents and the club wants to build from their youth.
“Adriaanse is someone who has always remained active with the youth and he knows exactly how to fit youth in the squad. I like attacking football and Adriaanse also prefers in playing attacking football”, Munsterman concluded.
The Tukkers have performed impressively in recent years, winning silverware in their last two seasons under two different trainers, Steve McClaren and Preud’homme. Adriaanse knows expectations are sky high in Enschede for the Tukkers to perform highly in
the upcoming season.
Reports suggest that the 63-year-old tactician would be arriving at De Grolsch Veste in the coming week.
