FC Utrecht’s Dries Mertens hinted a summer move to Ajax Amsterdam

the attacking midfielder has made it clear that he is still interested in joining the Amsterdammers and will happily join the club in the summer.
Mertens said, “I watched Ajax against Anderlecht and saw a great Ajax team. They play the attacking football that I like to play”.
“This summer I want a step-up. That does not necessarily have to be Ajax, because I am also open to other clubs”, he concluded.

the former AGOVV Apeldoorn midfielder’s style of play even more.
Chadli said, “I know that Dries wants to go to Ajax, but I think he is better suited to a great Spanish team, one that has much more movement in the game. La Liga is all about technique”.

the Eredivisie giants failed to meet Utreg’s significant asking price for the Belgian international and the deal collapsed.
