FC Utrecht manager, Erwin Koeman, is not surprised with the transfers of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven. The 49-year-old tactician believes that he can still make up for the loss and guide his side to finish in the top five Eredivisie
sides in the upcoming season.
The Utreg parted ways with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 Chatinier earlier last month, as he was unable to guide the outfit from Utrecht to finish in the top eight Eredivisie sides. Koeman was then appointed as the Utreg coach.
With the departure of two of his star players, PSV have received a severe blow ahead of the 2011/12 campaign. However, the 49-year-old has revealed that he is no stranger to such things happening.
“Khalid Boulahrouz left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam to join Liverpool FC in 2006, just three days before the close of the summer transfer market”, Koeman reminded the media.
The tactician went on to admit that he wanted Strootman and Mertens to prolong their stay at Stadion Galgenwaard, but it was not to be.
“Of course, I hoped that Mertens and Strootman stay in Utrecht, but now I have to wipe it off from my head. I had all the possible scenarios in my head, and that’s why I am not surprised”, the Dutch trainer concluded.
The Utreg also sold their striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 Clube de Portugal earlier in the ongoing summer transfer market. The Utreg have reportedly gained 18 million Euros with the transfer of these three and the club management has set its
sights on reinforcements to strengthen the squad.
