FC Utrecht’s Ton du Chatinier on the verge of being sacked from managerial post – Eredivisie news
Reports from Galgenwaard Stadion suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 management are looking to sack the current manager, Ton du Chatinier, and Erwin Koeman is expected to succeed the Utreg’s managerial hot seat for the next season.
The Utreg managed to finish their 2010/11 Eredivisie campaign ninth in the league table, mere two points behind the eight placed SC http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heracles-Almelo-c39520. The eighth spot guarantees UEFA Europa League play-offs berth, but some poor performances from the outfit
coupled with good performances from the Heraclieden in the recent weeks snatched the European berth from the Utreg.
Utrecht management wanted the club to finish in the top eight Eredivisie sides and play in the Europe’s secondary club competition next season. However, Chatinier failed to achieve the season’s objectives in the ending weeks of the 2010/11 season and that
has tempted the team management to part company with Chatinier before the start of the 2011/12 season. Moreover, FC Utrecht fans are also calling for Chatinier’s head before the next season and it seems unlikely that the 53-year-old tactician would be leading
the Utreg in the upcoming campaign.
Reports suggest that the Utreg see Ronald Koeman as an ideal manager to lead the Eredivisie outfit. However, the outfit from Utrecht have not made any official contact with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam trainer.
Koeman said, “I’m basically open to everything. I have many things deliberately withheld the last period. I love life, but I see now that the feeling is coming back and I want to work somewhere. If I’m not successful at Utrecht, then there are more candidates.”
The 49-year-old tactician is unemployed after his removal from Hungary national football team’s managerial post in the summer of 2010.
If rumours are to be believed, Steve McClaren is also a strong candidate to replace Chatinier at Galgenwaard Stadion in the summer. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 sacked the former England manager earlier this year after a string of bad results and he is currently unemployed.
McClaren had a successful spell earlier in Eredivisie with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede, when he guided the Tukkers to their first ever Eredivisie title in history. Moreover, the 50-year-old tactician also hinted earlier about his return in the Dutch top flight.
It seems like Chatinier is on the verge of being sacked, with Koeman or McClaren likely to replace him before the start of the upcoming season.
