has anyone ever pulled one loose surfing? where? doing what? i have a friend that loosened a plug (with a G5) doing a huge front-side cut back.

**i dont want 'opinions' or cut/paste answers, i want real surfers that this has happened to. i already know 'how' it happened--so dont try and tell me that either.

  1. It could have to do with what the board is made out of.  If the boards is an EPS board there are occasional problems with the FCS plug binding to the foam.  This happens because EPS is glassed using epoxy.  The wells where the plugs go hold a good amount of epoxy, which heats up while curing.  The heat can actually melt the EPS reducing the bond with the plug.  The new generation of FCS plugs, where the plugs come already set in a stiff foam shell are supposed to cure that problem.

The only problem I have had is when my wifes friend sat on the tail of my board on the beach and broke my center plugs.  Other than that it's just the normal stripped screws and stuff.

  2. No, it's never happened to me, but the boards I use most often have Futures. What's with the attitude?

  3. I haven't lost any FCS plugs, but last summer I lost a whole Futures fin box. Now, are you an exceptionally good surfer, or just a d**k.

  4. Yea...i have those fins and they come loose all the time....the screws get all gross and then i cant either put it back in or i cant take it out...for me, they come loose during anything...well not really anyhing but you know
