When you have a CD with a bank, is the FDIC $100,000 insurance "per account" or is it per customer at that bank. I.e. when you have say $140,000 and you set up two accounts with the same bank, each with $70,000, is each of those two accounts FDIC insured to the full "$100,000 FDIC limit?

  1. Per customer,  If you have more than $100,000 then put it in separate banks if you want it insured.

  2. they only insure you up to 100,000 but they offer programs that will unsure you up to 50 million if you qualify  i was unaware of this until the bank i work for was seized by the fdic
