FEDERAL ECONOMIC REBATE $600. What does that mean? My friend got $900.?

I filed my taxes late this year as I always do every year. My CPA told me that I will not get penaltize because I always get money back at the end of the year. She said that I will get a Federal Economic Rebate of $600 back this year but my fried got $900. Why is there a difference? I make about $30,000 more/year than she does and pay more money in taxes than she does. But she has a child. Does that make a difference?

Yes thats exactly what the difference is.  You get an extra 300 dollars per child.
