  1. You need to show your ankle to both your doctor and dance instructor.  Do not try any home remodies, you may damage it more.  Try to stay off of it as much as possible until you get it checked out.  Good luck to you!

  2. did you land on the side of your ankle or in an irregular way? you might have sprained your ankle. if you think this is a possibility, be easy and try to keep off of your ankle whenever possible and put ice on it to reduce swelling.

are you on pointe and do you sickle when  you releve? if so, you might be putting unnecessary pressure on muscles that shouldn't have pressure on them. make sure to keep your weight over your big toe.

if you haven't landed hard on your ankle and your sure you don't sickle, i would say you probably don't need an X-ray because there shouldn't be any reason why a bone would be broken.

you also might have torn or pulled a muscle.. if so you should let it heal slowly and be kind to it =)

hope that helps you and your ankle feels better =)

  3. It definitely looks like a sprained ankle.  An external lateral 2nd degree, probably. You probably tore one of your six ankle ligaments- the damage can't be 3rd degree because you would be collapsing on it...the bump is a swelling. For treating sprains, this is the best way:

R-est. You won't get better if you don't get rest.

I-ce. Ice it! 20 minutes, then break 20 minutes. Keep it constant, and it will reduce the swelling.

C-ompression.  Keep it taped up and/or in an ankle brace whenever you have to put weight on your ankle. This will support it and also help reduce swelling.

E-levation.  Keep it elevated, if you're laying down or sitting put your leg up on a table or on a stack of pillows. This will reduce blood flow to the ankle and again reduce swelling.

The acronym is RICE.  Remember it...it helps a lot.

My advice is yes, go to the doctors, no, do not dance on it until you can walk and plie without pain.  And when you do dance, keep it taped up and wrapped and always mark everything until the pain almost disappears.  Don't go full out, you will only aggravate the injury.  After dancing or any exercise, ice it! Blood flows to the sprain to try and "protect" it, but this also causes pain.

Good luck, and i hope you feel better!!!

  4. ok-you might have a gangly insist. is it hard? gangly insists are. its kinda funny-my mom has one on her ankle right now. you should go to the doctor. sometimes you have to get surgery......it might not be one, but it sounds like it. hope that helps :)
