Question:

FF: How bad are my WR's?

I recently did a draft in a 10 team PPR league. We have to start 3 RB's. The good news is I'm the only one that has 3 good backs (Marion Barber, Larry Johnson, Reggie Bush (ppr)). My QB is Carson Palmer. On to the bad news:

I didn't draft a WR until round 5. I have to start 3 of these guys-Hines Ward, Joey Galloway, Nate Burleson, Chris Chambers, Patrick Crayton. Are my WRs bad to the point of off setting the fact that I have the best RBs and a quality QB?

  1. you have a great team

    nothing to worry about

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. Well I gotta be honest, for a 10 team league your RBs are not that great.  Barber is a beast for sure, but Johnson has been used like a rented mule, has a bad o-line, no QB and in general a bad offense, and Bush has been an underachiever.  Also, my opinion is that Palmer could be on the downside (last year he had 26 tds, but 6 of those came in one game which means the other 15 games he averaged 1.3 tds).

On the other hand, I think you have a couple of strong sleepers at WR:  Burleson seems to have developed a good rapport with Hasselbeck, and with Branch and Engram both out he will be the top target for sure.  Chambers has had some time to get used to Rivers and the San Diego offense, and that figures to be a high-scoring offense.  I would start Ward, Burleson and Chambers.

As far as the guy above who suggested you get Moss or T.O. for Burleson and Crayton, all I can say is LOL.  If you can pull that trade off, you must have some dim-witted owners in your league.

  3. O Na Son You good but just in case get randy moss or TO for Burleson, and Crayton

  4. Hm, Crayton, and Burrelson could do very well, so you never know. You're not offsetting your good QB and RB's. You take whatever points you can get. If i were you I'd try to trade one of your backs for a reciever, if you are really the only one with three good backs. Answer this bad boy:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

  5. Hines Ward is good and Joey Galloway is good. Nate Burleson may do good because of the injuries up in seattle. Chris Chambers is the second option in San Diego. They are not too bad but they are not all go-to guys

  6. Crayton is underrated, he'll do good, get maybe 800 yards this year with a 5+ TD's.

Ward is good too, he'll probably get 900+ yards and 5+ TD's.

Chris Chambers will also get a bit under 1,000 yards recieving, all in all your recievers ain't half bad.

Since you are already on top of your league in running why don't you balance it out by getting a GREAT reciever like Moss and a running back to cover you up for trading away your #1 or 2 running back like Ronnie Brown, he was injured, I know, but he was the best running back in football for the seven weeks he was around on pace for more than 2,200 yards from the scrimmage, 200 more than anyone in the NFL.

  7. You have average wide recievers

  8. I would be happy with those WR's they aren't terrible. Crayton, Chambers and Burleson could flourish. I'm personally not crazy about Ward as I believe he is the 3rd option now for Big Ben after S. Holmes and H. Miller and J. Galloway is old, but he is the only real recieving option and  still gets it done I guess.
