  1. I met my husband when he was home on leave from his first tour from Iraq. We spent three days together and then he had to return to his duty station. We talked on the phone for five months and grew very close. Because of the distant it wasn’t a physical relationship. This made us talk and learn about each and we grew closer together. We talked about marriage, how many kids we would want, what kind of careers, dreams, hopes…EVERYTHING.  He took 30 days leave after the five months and came back to me. We “dated” for about a week and realized we had found our soul mates. We went shopping for rings and was married just before his leave was up. It was short planned so it wasn’t a big wedding, but that didn’t matter because I was marrying the man of my dreams. It’s been five years and two kids later and we are still in the honeymoon phase! Couldn’t be happier. Of course this doesn’t work for everyone. I truly believe since we could only talk, we learned so much more about each and want we expected out of life. **sorry, yes we were young. I was just 18 and he was 23!
