FIA confirm 2013 calendar after World Motor Sport Council meeting – Formula 1 news
FIA have confirmed the 2013 Formula 1 Calendar after the meeting of World Motor Sport Council held in Paris.
The provisional calendar of the next season was revealed during the Singapore Grand Prix. However, some changes have been made in the dates of next year’s races in WMSC’s meeting.
The races in Singapore and Korea were subject to confirmation in the draft due to some uncertainties in the contracts. Nonetheless, it has been confirmed in the new calendar that both the races will be held in the coming year.
Moreover, the dates of the Korean and the Japanese grands prix have been switched so the race in Korea will be held first. Besides, the German GP has been moved to July 14 and will be held before the Hungarian GP.
It is to be noted that the 2013 Grand Prix of America has gone under doubts as the chief executive officer of F1, Bernie Ecclestone has recently said that the contract of the race is not valid.
Furthermore, Ecclestone said that the organisers of the race event in New Jersey have not finalised the terms and conditions in the agreement. Nonetheless, he said that they are expecting to have further negotiations with the co-ordinators soon.
Despite the element of doubt, the race in America has been mentioned in the calendar but it is yet to be confirmed.
