FIFA 12, Forza 4 and Rage battle it out for supremacy in the United Kingdom’s video game sales chart
After going through the individual platform charts, namely the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and seeing who came out on top in each, a look at the overall sales charts in the United Kingdom and see who really came out on top.
10. Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge: benefiting from the actual Rugby World Cup, Alternative are enjoying their cameo appearance in the charts. Though, one can derive another meaning from the sales of the game and that is the fact that the people
of the United Kingdom are showing which side they are supporting in the France versus New Zealand final.
9. F1 2011: It may not have sold as consistently or as well as DiRT 3, but its publishers will not mind as the game debuted at number one on a number of consoles and exceed expectations on overall sales.
8. Zumba Fitness: is almost out of stamina as the Kinect port of the game seems to be waning in terms of sales, after an initial spike in the game’s figures. Gamers can breathe a sigh of relief as the plague is nearly at an end. That is
until Zumba Fitness 2 is announced.
7. Dark Souls: providing gamers a challenge and a unique multiplayer experience no other title can, Dark Souls is still selling well enough to earn itself a place in the top 10. It seems Namco Bandai’s move to go multiplatform has paid off.
6. Dead Island: a paradise island resort overrun by zombies
is still enticing enough a concept for gamers in the United Kingdom as the game continues to sell well.
5. Gears of War 3: The game ran a trailer with a song ‘Into Dust’ by Mazzy Star, but the game is far from emulating that title as it continues to move copies off shelves. One of the highest earning video game releases in recent history,
Gears of War 3 will be remembered for a while.
4. Rage: be it a zombie apocalypse or a losing battle against the Locust, it seems gamers have an obsession with how life will be after a worldwide end-of-daysesque catastrophe. Rage falls into that category as the game by Bethesda is doing
just enough to keep itself in the top four.
3. Just Dance 3: shaking one’s body without a care in the world to instructions that appear on screen seem to be the fancy of many in the United Kingdom as Just Dance 3 debuts in the top three of the charts.
2. FIFA 12 and 1. Forza Motorsport 4: following the trend of the Xbox 360 charts, it seems that Forza 4 has done enough to knock the football simulation game and claimed the perch for its own.
