FIFA 12 faces off against Dark Souls and Rage in the overall Video Game sales charts in the UK
Movement in the charts was a surety as two new titles entered the video gaming fray and looked to carve out a place for themselves near the top end of the charts.
Bethesda’s Rage and Namco Bandai’s Dark Souls were both hyped to considerably high levels prior to their release, yet there was nothing the developers or the publishers could do but wait to find out how their respective titles had fared in the sales charts.
10. Resistance 3: The trilogy began in the United Kingdom as Nathan Hale encountered the Chimera for the first time and seems the brave people in the UK do not leave any fight unfinished as they delve into Resistance 3 to put an end to the Chimera; and in doing so have managed to add to the sales of the game as well.
9. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: Keeping the gaming charts family friendly and adding a bit of light humour amid the fast cars, hordes of zombies and chaotic football action is Disney’s title. The game has been in the charts for quite some time now and is a testament that video games really are for everyone.
8. Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Still selling well on almost every platform, the sales figures for the game are a fair reflection on just a truly immersive experience Deus Ex’s return to consoles really is.
7. Zumba Fitness: After ruining gaming on the Nintendo Wii, the developers behind Zumba Fitness decided that destroying one console was not enough and they ported game to the Xbox 360 where it is still continuing to sell rather well.
6. Dead Island: proving that killing zombies with friends while on vacation is the United Kingdom’s idea of a good time, Dead Island is earning a lot in terms of revenue for its publisher Deep Silver.
5. F1 2011: It may no longer be in pole position but Codemasters’ have created one of the best Formula 1 experiences for quite some time and the sales figures are a testament to that.
4. Gears of War 3: It may have had a phenomenal opening week, yet since then Gears of War 3 has struggled against the likes of FIFA 12 and a few debutants.
3. Dark Souls: Coming in third for the week in one’s debut week is not a bad achievement, something Namco Bandai can be proud of as their second instalment in the ‘Souls’ series has done rather well.
2. Rage & 1. FIFA 12: Rage tried as hard as it could, but it seems the Hulk never emerged and FIFA 12 had an easy time keeping the top spot for itself for yet another week.
