FIFA 12 jostles with Gears of War 3 for top spot on United Kingdom Sales Charts
It has been seven days since the previous figures were released for the overall sales charts in United Kingdom. Those figures put Gears of War 3 at the very top of an impressive pile. However, since then, a certain game by the name of FIFA 12 has hit the
market and it will be interesting to see if the King of Footy games can outmuscle the King of Cover shooters.
In what can only be complimented as one of the best selling games of all time, Call of Duty: Black Ops is hanging on to a place in the top 10 spots on the charts. No game is supposed to sell so much for this long a period, yet it seems no one told Activision
of BlOps that.
It is nice when you see variety in the charts and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is one title which adds such variety. While Lego games have always sold well, Pirates of the Caribbean seems to be doing better than all the rest. Yet it does leave one question
unanswered; why is the rum always gone?!
Driving around the streets of San Francisco may be getting old, but it still has enough charm for the game Driver: San Francisco, to hold on to eighth spot in the overall charts.
Making its debut in the charts at seventh place, which is fairly impressive for a debut week of a remake of a game, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection has done well for itself and Sony Computer Entertainment.
The game that brings up the debate of augmentations well before its time, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is stirring enough interest with its multiple paths and amazing storytelling by settling in the number six spot for the week.
As fun as augmentations may be, beating zombies in an island paradise with a group of friends is even more so as Dead Island managed to sell enough copies to earn itself a place in the top five.
Still hanging onto gaming charts like a leech, Zumba Fitness is fixated on the number four spot for yet another week, while F1 2011 has slipped down one spot into third position.
In what everyone knew would happen, Gears of War 3 has slipped down into the number two spot. The game managed to break a number of records but its short, yet lucrative reign at the top spot is finally over.
The reason though, is a good one and comes in the shape of FIFA 12, which has topped all charts of platforms it was released on. One can expect the reign of FIFA 12 to continue for some time.
