FIFA 12 soundtrack revealed, Kasabian, Foster the people and the Tings Tings feature – News
Football fans may just have recovered from the highs of seeing the new football season get underway, but they are set for another high, hopefully, when the latest instalment in the world’s best selling franchise hits shelves at the end of the month.
FIFA 12 is nearing its impending, eagerly anticipated and now hyped to dizzying heights release date. The demo is set to the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace in a matter of hours from now with PC gamers also getting their demo around the
same time.
Six teams, including Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester City are set to be on the aforementioned demo and at the same time the entire soundtrack for the full version of the game has been released as well.
There are a number of well known bands, as well as the usual mix of international flair and variety which the FIFA soundtracks have become known for over the ages. So it is worth a look to see which songs FIFA 12 players will be listening to for the next
12 months or so.
Before we do so however, it is best if we allow the Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing at Electronic Arts, Steve Schnur, a chance to explain the philosophy behind choosing the songs which  make the cut, “Our belief is that FIFA soundtracks
must always be more than just a collection of songs. We want to create a true international showcase that embodies dozens of nations and virtually every genre of music. We want to bring the world closer together by uniting the global cultures of soccer and
music.”
Alex Metric and Steve Angello’s track ‘Open your eyes’ will be in the game as will All Manking with their song, ‘Break the spell’.
Australian band Architecture in Helsinki have their track ‘Escapee’ immortalised and gamers will be also get to hear ‘So Tem Jogador’ from the Brazilian band, Bloco Bleque/ Gabriel O Pensador.
‘No Problem’ and ‘Not in Love’, which are the creative genius of Chase and Status and Crystal Castles/ Robert Smith respectively, will also be in the game.
CSS (Hits me like a rock), Cut Copy (Where I’m going), Digitalism (Bombay) will be other tunes gamers can choose to listen to as well as Empresarios (Sabor Tropical).
One of the more mainstream bands, Foster the People will also have their track ‘Call it what you will’ in the game and Kasabian finally get a place in the soundtrack with ‘Switchblade smiles’.
Sticking to the more mainstream artists now and The Ting Tings will also feature with ‘Hands’ and The Hives find themselves on the soundtrack with ‘Thousand answers’.
There are a number of other artists as well and one can hope that the developers have maintained their trend of compiling another solid FIFA soundtrack.
