FIFA 12 to get a patch, Pro Evolution Soccer to get a DLC, from fixing issues to kitting up
A patch and a DLC have been announced for two of the gaming world’s fiercest rivals. The latter coming from Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 and the former being done by Electronic Arts’ FIFA 12.
Kicking things off with FIFA 12 and the news that Electronic Arts are currently working on a patch for the game which is set to address a number of issues within it, or as Romily Broad, FIFA 12’s community manager, put it, “Two or three weeks from now the
first patch will happen and that’s going to make big corrections to some of the things that are bothering people the most.”
Although he did hint at the release date for the patch, there were no specifics, but one thing the community developer did elaborate on was the fact that this was the first of many patches to come for the game, “We’re (EA Sports) going to be doing this constantly,
with our thumbs in the middle of the community trying to get people to tell us what they think, and then we’ll be acting on it for the rest of the season.”
Basically what the statement says is that EA Sports plans on providing continuous support for FIFA 12 during the course of the season with issues, which the fans raise in forums, being addressed by the development team. His next statement proved just how
serious they were, “That’s a commitment we’re definitely making.”
Moving on from FIFA to its rival, Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, the game is set to get a free update on its release date. It seems that Konami were not satisfied with the players’ stats or the lack of proper team kits. DLC will not only update the stats of
players in 160 clubs, but their traits and attributes will also be receiving a major overhaul to bring them more in line with the current season of football action.
A press release stated, “In total 160 clubs will be updated, with hundreds of players benefitting from more realistic stats and abilities that are tailored to their real-life playing style.”
Real Madrid fans will be relieved to know that the new team strip will come part and parcel with the update as will a number of boots. Puma, Nike and Adidas football shoe replicas will be making it into the game with a total number of 13 boots being added.
The update will be releasing on the October 11 in United States and United Kingdom. The eleventh is also the release date of Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 in the North American region, while gamers in UK will have to wait an extra three days till October 14,
before they can get their hands on the game.
