The second leak of the day sees the floodgates open as the internet is buzzing after screenshots of FIFA 13 appear online as well as details of what gamers can expect in the next EA Sports title.
EA had already announced that they were planning on making a larger number of players more realistic within the game using a new kind of technology. The technology incidentally was developed by a studio that had been doing the face mapping work for EA for
a considerable amount of time, so one could say that the new tech is tailor made for FIFA.
The game will now see more realistic in-game models of players and expand the portfolio of players who will have more realistic likenesses within the game as well. However, in the day and age where the internet brings access to information at the blistering
rate it does, that is old news.
The latest scoop comes via the Dark Side of Gaming, which reports that EA Sports will only be tweaking and enhancing the same game mechanics that were used in FIFA 12. The report makes sense seeing how EA hit the nail on the head with FIFA 12 and expanding
on the features would be more practical than a complete rework of the game.
One of the tweaks will come in the form of adding more realistic ball control that will also take into consideration the bounce of the ball, as well as make more use of the player’s ability on the ball than ever before.
At the same time, the source claims that the comical collisions and awkward positions the player models found themselves in due to the physical Impact Engine have been ironed out with the developers apparently on top of the situation.
Attacking and defensive AI will also be improved with defenders not staring at the ball while it rolls by them and attacking players making more intelligent runs into space. This will carry into dead ball situations as well.
Also, the site claims that players will be able to make use of up to three players during free kicks as it opens up a number of options for the player.
Again, these features should be taken with a bit of salt and again, with E3 just around the corner, everything will become a lot clearer.
