FIFA 2010 World Cup: Dutch coach says the Oranje are ready and so is Robin van Persie

They wear electric orange jerseys in order to represent their country and each time they do they take over the heart of men dressing them all in the same colour. The Dutch have truly been be the most erratic and unexpected team in the history of World Cup teams.

They have confounded experts by their performance for ages. Although they have been unable to qualify for World Cup’s final stages or have not appeared at times, but when they did they were always equipped with the tools to make history.

For instance one of the most famous runs for the flying Dutchmen would be in the 1970s when they reached the finals of two consecutive World Cups, however lost it to the host nations on both the occasions.

In 1974 and 1978 they had a mesmerizing squad because of which they proceeded to the finals. This year the team is different but the story is the same. The Clock Work Orange have reached the finals in style and have knocked out the best in the field and similarly with an amazing team. The Dutch Masters have also won the European Championship of 1988.

The Flying Dutch men have entered the final episode of the tournament in South Africa defeating Uruguay in the semi finals. The match proved to be an exciting thriller as Netherlands won against the Celeste with a 3-2 victory. With stars like Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, Robin van Persie on the attack and one of the best midfielders and defenders of the tournament they are sure to give Spain a tough time as both teams look for their first World Title.

Arjen Robben seems to be a one man army who alone can destroy the opponents defence but with the help of Wesley Sneijder they have knocked out the best like Brazil in the quarter final stage. Sneijder is also a strong contender for the Golden Boot with 5 goals along with David Villa of Spain and Miroslav Klose of Germany.

The Orange Alert gave warning to the contestants of the final stages of the World Cup in the early qualifying stages of the tournament. They have been unbeaten yet and have a record winning streak of 35 matches.

They outclassed Denmark 2-0 and then Japan 1-0. In the last Group stage match though Cameroon gave them a tough time they came out victorious with a 2-1 victory. In the round of 16 they thwarted Slovakia 2-1, who had proceeded after having beaten the defending Champions Italy and then out smarted Brazil 2-1. Eventually came the thrilling Uruguayan match which they won 3-2.

Now as the two unprecedented teams approach in the final, expectations are high for a flamboyant and spectacular final. The Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk has expressed that he is keenly waiting for the match against Spain. He also expressed that the “Oranje” were in no way going to underestimate the La Furia Roja and will run on till the last whistle to acquire glory.

While talking to media the Dutch coach stated, “Spain deserved to beat Germany in their semi final. They dominated play and were the better side of the two”.

The 58 year old Van Marwijk commented, “Spain are the best team in the world at the moment. They have been in impressive form in the past couple of years. I enjoy watching them play and I'm looking forward to meeting them in the final. It will be a challenge to try to beat them. We are not afraid of the Spaniards”.

As Robin van Persie has been the only disappointment in the team, and being expected to be the saviour of the Dutch he so far has not fired up to expectations. His performance will be crucial for the Dutch victory. On the issue the coach relayed, “I am convinced that Robin van Persie will up his game against Spain. He hasn't scored too many so far, but he has been very important for the team. He's sacrificing himself for the team and that's great”.
