FIFA 2010 World Cup: Larissa Riquelme to still run naked for Paraguayan historic glory
Larissa Riquelme, who has caught the attention of the world and stopped the hearts of men, was born on the 22nd of February, 1985 and is a professional Paraguayan model and actress at the city theatre in the Paraguayan capital.
Riquelme has risen to international repute recently in the FIFA 2010 World Cup, as a supporter of the club Cerro Porteño and the Paraguay national football team. She was first pictured rejoicing right after a goal was scored during the game between Italy and Paraguay with her mobile phone between her b*****s. This was reportedly a promotion for the mobile company. Then she was seen with the word “Axe” on her chest as an advertisement for the Deodorant.
Riquelme actually became one of the most searched persons on the Internet; she was actually named "Girl of the World Cup" by a Spanish newspaper. She has also been described as the most famous fan of the World Cup.
After Diego Maradona, the Argentinean coach who promised to run naked through Buenos Aires if Argentina won the World Cup. Argentina was defeated by Germany in a 4-0 humiliation which led them out of the World Cup. Though Argentina had a pretty good World Cup campaign they were let down by the last match. Larissa matched that by saying that they she was not only running for the Paraguay team but for other South American nations as they too had performed exceptionally well especially Uruguay.
Riquelme promised her naked run after Maradona vowed before her if his team won. That actually instigated Riquelme and she told that she would run naked through Asuncion revealing that she would run for Paraguay even if they had not won World Cup, wearing only the colours of Paraguay in body paint. Though to the dismay of the fans Paraguay eventually did lose its match against Spain, but now Riquelme has announced that she will fulfil her promise either ways.
Paraguay was in Group F of the World Cup and had a 1-1 draw with Italy scoring a goal in the first half then won a match with 2-0 against Slovakia and then had another draw with the score nil from both sides with New Zealand. Then in round 16 it played against Japan and again had a nil draw and then the match went on to the penalties where the score was 5-3 and Paraguay won. Then Paraguay lost a match against Spain with a score of 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
Although a lot of people see this as just a publicity stunt for a model trying to gain more importance than she is actually worth. When Paraguay lost to Spain Larissa Riquelme was distraught and this seemed to crush the hopes of millions of viewers who had wished to see Riquelme run nude through the streets.
Now Riquelme has announced that she will still run! The hearts of not just the Paraguayan men but the whole world will still be throbbing. There have been many comments on Riquelme’s naked run stating that she is actually posing for an ad campaign and that she is elating her finishing career as a model before she departs trying to get her hands on as much fame and glory she can before she goes out.
Still her act will remain, as she coyly stated, a present to all the players and for the people of Paraguay to enjoy as they tried and worked really hard and gave it their very best.
