FIFA 2010 World Cup: Patrice Evra finally gives a piece of his mind, the French Government to launch investigation into the disastrous performance by France

After a press conference by the French coach Raymond Domenech, press releases by their team officials and French Football Federation (FFF) along with statements by Thierry Henry, Patrice Evra was the man left to enter the spotlight and the wait for it was immense, but no more.

The skipper of France has told that an inquiry is about to start investigating the dismissive performance by the French Team. He explained that after meeting with the officials in the government; it has been cleared that a government lead committee is being organized to find out the reason behind their horrendous World Cup journey.

Les Bleus landed back home before the start of the weekend after they gained just one point in the three games they played. That sadly was not the worst part of their campaign. They were further humiliated when the French team refused to train following a fight between their captain Evra and coach Raymond which also included their fitness trainer. The fight was over Nicolas Anelka’s exclusion and exile from the tournament in South Africa after he used profane words against their coach. The captain and most of the team were against the decision made by the coach and FFF and therefore the mayhem at the training session took place.

The saga brought so much shame to France that the French President Nicolas Sarkozy was included in the wreckage of the disaster. Later Thierry Henry asked the president for a private meeting to explain all the reasons behind the incident.

Sources have now revealed that Henry, Evra and Domenech will not be the only ones who will be questioned. It is reported that now the whole team will have a direct meeting with the president. Evra relayed on the subject, “An investigation will be opened by the ministry and all the players will be heard. Each one of us will say what they experienced and will say the truth. Everyone will give some information from each angle and all sides”.

Upon his arrival back in France, Evra told media that he will highlight every detail behind the poor performance made by France in the 2010 World Cup.

He told that the boycotting of the training session was wrong and imprudent. He sadly told, “We regretted the impact it had. But we were in such a state that sometimes, for love, you can do clumsy gestures”.

Henry on the other hand told, “I could have been the older brother but I wasn't anymore. I felt isolated, it doesn't matter who by. They didn't talk to me as they used to. Before they talked to me more. But when you don't have credibility in a group any more it becomes difficult”.

The Barcelona striker told that there was a depressing absence of unity missing from the team. He also expressed that he was not clear if the Anelka matter was the spark that ignited the flames further but knew that the pressure created by the situation could take down veterans.

Still he admitted that all the decisions made in the team were made as a group so their field performance was a major reason to blame. He further explained that instead of amending the wrong doings in the team everybody was out to protect their ego and make excuses for their mistakes. He expressed that in essence the team truly just was not good enough to play and win.

Henry explained, "When a team wins everything can happen, when there are defeats doubt comes in and stories start getting invented”.

France faced a demoralizing and humiliating defeating against South Africa with 2-1. A match they set out win and enter the last 16 stage of the tournament was met by obstacle when the Bafana Bafana scored the first two goals from which the French failed to recover.
