EA have released the demo to the reboot of the once popular series ahead of its release in March.
There was a time when the core titles of the FIFA series and the FIFA Street games would both follow an annual release schedule. However, in recent years the latter had dropped off the radar as interest in the title waned.
Electronic Arts, though, feels that the time is right for skill-based series to make a comeback as they are about to release the reboot to the series, FIFA Street, next month.
In the mean time though, gamers on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles can download the demo of the game, which EA have released.
The demo weighs in at a considerable 1.89 GB so some gamers may want to make sure that they have enough space on their Hard Disk Drives before they download the title.
The game is built on the same engine that powered the best football simulation game in recent history, FIFA 12, though the developers conceded that they tweaked the gameplay to make it blend in better with the ‘street’ style.
Players can take part in matches in a number of game modes with the number of players ranging from 3-v-3 to 6-v-6, though whether or not all the modes are in the demo is still unclear.
Gamers will also find a number of superstars in the game as well as their favourite clubs on offer, complete with official kits and gear.
FIFA Street will also have the benefit of having Lionel Messi on the cover after EA reached an agreement with the Argentina and Barcelona superstar over a sponsorship deal. The move saw Messi leave the Pro Evolution series and join their rivals in the process.
EA are also hoping that FIFA Street will bring the last remaining hardcore football fans to the FIFA series from the Pro Evo series as it provides an original experience that no other game can offer.
Whether or not that move works out is something everyone will have to wait and see. FIFA Street is scheduled for release on the 16th of March but gamers can try the demo out for themselves now.
