FIFA World Cup 2010: Spain vs. Germany - Players To Watch Out For

Germany are all set to take on Spain in the second semi final, to determine who will go on to face the Dutch in the final game of the World Cup. It will be a rematch from the Euro 2008 championship match and the Germans will be looking to get some revenge while the Spanish will be trying to put in the same performance they did last time. Records are on the verge of being broken in this match, players are looking to become heroes for their nation and the world is holding its breath as it waits for this match to commence.

There will be a few players on each side that would make the difference however, and be the key to victory for their team.

Starting with the German keeper Manuel Neuer, who has by far been the most consistent goal keeper throughout the tournament. He managed to keep the attacking threat of Argentina out for the entire match and added another clean sheet to his record. He will be looking to keep this form up as he is set to face the likes of David Villa in the quickly approaching match, his performance could make or break Germany.

Cesc Fabregas has a lot to prove, being left out on the bench for most of the matches he will be looking to take this opportunity to prove his worth. With Fernando Torres misfiring, he would most likely be replaced by Fabregas in the starting lineup. Fabregas has amazing ability to read and dictate the game and would be looking to bring the same form he has shown all season with Arsenal.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is now the heart of the German squad, he has made the absence of Ballack not affect the team at all. He has been putting in match winning performances game after game. He is a terrific play maker, dribbler and a specialist with the dead ball and will be looking to dictate play against the Spanish in hopes for his team to come out on top.

Xavi is arguably the best midfielder in the world at the moment, he creates magic when he has the ball at his feet. He will be looking to maintain his reputation for sending defense splitting passes  and constantly dictating the flow of the game. He was the player of the tournament at the Euro  2008 and if he manages to maintain his form he may go down as one of the greatest players of all time.

David Villa will be the main goal threats for the Spanish side, having already scored five goals he will be looking to add a few more to his name. He is currently on fire and has the hunger to score more goals, this desire will be crucial in the match against Germany.

This will most probably be the last tournament Klose plays in for the German team. He is a goal scoring machine, he prefers to not care about the hype that people create about him or the matches, he tends to give a hundred percent in every game he plays. He is one goal away for equaling Ronaldo’s fifteen goal record in the Finals. With all his experience and talent he will be the main drive behind the Germans attack.
