FIFA keen to investigate bribe claims
The football governing body FIFA has decided to inquire the current issue about bribing FIFA officials to select the world cup host for the world cup of 2018 and 2022 on a bigger stand. The investigation of the matter is still under process after a British
news paper reported that two of FIFA’s officials have been bribed to support particular countries to host the world cup event.
Recently in an interview the president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter expressed his thoughts and aims for the matter and said that FIFA will go through the material and proofs to capture the crooks as soon as possible. He told that necessary actions are being taken
by the inquiry committee and the association will soon get to a point. Blatter seemed very keen and concerned about the matter and told the media that the further investigational reports will help them decide what to do next.
The further actions of the inquiry committee are still awaited and it is still not revealed that which countries are going to be scrutinized.
The 74-year-old FIFA president informed the media and said that all the aspects related to the matter are being closely monitored and the proposal of the countries who have bid for the world cups of 2018 and 2022 are being analyzed as well. He added that
the corruption in association cannot be tolerated and strict actions will be taken against the brazen crooks as well as for the responsible bidding countries.
According to some reports FIFA has requested for the all the related information and documents regarding the matter and still the necessary information has not been given to FIFA for further investigation.
Currently FIFA is not willing to reveal all the secrets about the case. It is also reported that Sepp Blatter has asked the inquiry committee members not to comment about the matter to the media and Blatter also said that he is not willing to reveal much
about the matter anymore.
Now the current fuming issue and allegations has filled the air and fans of the world’s most loved sport from all around the world are eager to see the final proceedings of the case. According to some news reports FIFA has conducted an undercover operation
for the investigation. The news report also revealed that six FIFA officials will act as fixers to get to the real culprit.
The England’s 2006 world cup bid director Alec McGiven expressed his views and thoughts in the state of despair and said that the recent allegations and revelations have damaged the reputation of FIFA. McGavin added that FIFA World Cup is the biggest event
of football and football is the world’s most favourite game and the corruption in world’s football governing body is not less than a shock. McGavin said that sadly the process of bidding for the world cup is not a fair game and the recent revelations have
given birth to many other issues and allegations.
Now an investigation has been opened to inquire the member associations as well as the bid committees. It is also reported that FIFA has asked the director of ethics committee to operate quickly and take necessary steps like conditional measures to analyze
the current ongoing investigational process.
According to some news reports Amos Adamu, the president of Oceania Football Confederation and FIFA vice president Tahitian Reynald Temarii of Nigeria were supposedly asked for the fees for votes. It is also reported that Adamu and Temarri were filmed by
the reporters. The media footage also reveals that Adamu is directly asking for money to be paid to him for supporting the US bid for the world cup.
The allegations and corruption in FIFA has certainly stirred the ideas of unfair play in the world of football. Now the further steps in the investigation will reveal more secrets.
