FIFA shows its concerns about the injured Togolese goalkeeper
FIFA has shown its humbleness and concerns for the injured goalkeeper of Togo, Kodjovi Obilale. It is reported that Obilale will receive a fund of twenty five thousand dollars from FIFA.
In fact the 25-year-old goal keeper from Togo was shot by the separatist rebels during the Nations Cup which was held in Angola in January. It is reported that the goalkeeper is still unable to walk and in need of some financial help to get proper treatment for his injured leg. It is also to be notified that the cruel attack by the separatist rebels was of a severe type and two members from the Togo delegation were also killed in the attack.
The eight months of being away from the football field has made the 25-year-old Togolese goalkeeper frustrated and disappointed about his gaming career. When he was asked about his present condition the goalkeeper expressed his views in a state of despair and told the media that he is not happy with the way everything is happening to him, as he is unable to walk and live properly. While talking about the twenty five thousand dollar fund from FIFA, the 25-year-old said that he is very thankful to FIFA for such a caring and humble attitude.
It is to be noted that Kodjovi Obilale was very disappointed and frustrated from his bad physical condition and the lack of assistance by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Angolan organisers made him plea to FIFA for his financial support.
After that the FIFA president Blatter took the action and promised some aid from FIFA humanitarian fund. While talking about the issue, FIFA president expressed himself by saying that he is very concerned with the injury of the Togolese goalkeeper and wished him a good future ahead.
It is also reported that the injury of Obilale is very severe and it might drag the 25-year-old away from his professional career forever. The critical physical condition made the injured goalkeeper write to the FIFA president. Sympathetic thing is that the Obilale has publically mourned for the financial help from FIFA, as he was not being properly assisted by the CAF and Angolan officials. Right now he is unable to move his leg and is not even capable to feel his feet. Currently the 25-year- old is using wheelchair to move from one place to another.
These days Kodjovi Obilale seems very angry and frustrated about his current health situation. He told the media that his case has not been treated well, and he is very depressed because of his current helplessness. Obilale expressed his thoughts and said that he should have been dealt like other famous players of the world but no one has shown his support for his case which is definitely not good at all.
Kodjovi has undergone some exhaustive physiotherapy and the fund promised by the FIFA president will give him financial security for his future. It is also to be noticed that an amount of seventy thousand US dollars for him was promised by Togo's sports ministry last month. Obilale intends that the rest of his hospital billings should be covered by the Togolese government, as he is not in the position to pay for his medical expenses.
The machine gun shot has dragged the Togolese goalkeeper away from his professional football career. The incident has definitely raised a question about the security measures taken by the African and Togolese government for organizing major sporting events. It is now the job of Togo government to support the 25-year-old injured football player.
