FIGURE SKATERS I NEED YOUR HELP! Which one do I take? Ballet or Gymnastics?

I am 14 yrs. old and I'm a Figure Skater, Level FS 7. I was suppose to have join ballet or gymnastics years ago but I couldn't decide which one to chose. SO I NEED HELP! Which one will benefit my figure skating better?

  1. I'll say that would be ballet.Your kinda old for  gymnastics.You'll take more from skating in ballet.Ex:Flexible back,flexible legs and balance,although i think you'll have a problem with your foot arch cause in figure skating you ankle stays stiff in you skates.But that isn't such a big problem,you'll develop an arch cause at this age your feet are still developing.Good luck and hope this helped you!


  2. ballet will definitely benefit your figure skating better.  you will learn how to jump really high and you will get really good at turning.  the strength acquired in ballet greatly helps with all of the things you need for figure skating.  gymnastics will give you strength, but it won't focus on the points you need for figure skating (grace, lower body strength, etc.)


  3. i take both . they both have advantages.

  4. Definetely ballet. It helps with grace AND flexibility. Also, many ice skating moves are similar to ballet moves, except you're on ice. Many people consider figure skating as ballet on ice. So definetely ballet.

  5. ballet...it will make u more flexible agile and gracful..all things that u need on the ice.
