FIH names Marsha Marescia in Women’s team of All Stars
Legendary midfield player and skipper of the Women’s squad of South Africa, Marsha Marescia has been selected in the Women’s team of All Stars for the third time. She had also been chosen in the International Hockey Federation (FIH) All Stars back in 2007
and 2009 due to her outstanding and brilliant performances.
Marsha Marescia, the 27-year-old legendary player has acquired some 220 caps in the international hockey for the South African Women’s team. She made her international debut back in 2001 at the age of just 18 years and rendered magnificent performances during
her decade long career.
Marsha Marescia in a delighting state said that she was feeling very honoured after being recognised by the international Hockey Federation. Offering thanks to her team, she further said that the acknowledgement will give a boost to her teammates.
Marsha said, “Hockey is a team game and I must thank my teammates, for without their talent and commitment, recognition of this nature wouldn't be possible for an individual.”
Interestingly, the coach of Women’s hockey team of Argentina, Adel Fuentes distinguished Marsha as ‘a special one’ during the coaching camp held in November 2010 at the University of Free State Hockey Centre in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Giles Bonnet, the head coach of South African Women’s team stated, “What more can one say about Marsha. She is the complete professional, blessed with skill, fighting spirit and a strong attachment to the team's cause.”
It is pertinent to mention here that the teams of FIH All Stars are selected by the opinions and suggestions of experts belonging to all walks of life including former players, journalists, officials and coaches.  
The Women’s squad of FIH All Stars will be comprised of Fu Baorong and Zhao Yudiao of China, Joyce Sombroek, Maartje Paumen and Naomi van As of Netherlands, Casey Eastham and Madonna Blyth of Australia, Luciana Aymar, Noel Barrionuevo, Soledad Garcia, Carla
Rebecchi of Argentina, Kayla Sharland of New Zealand, Helen Richardson, Rani Rampal of India, Natascha Keller of Germany, Beth Storry and Crista Cullen of England and Marsha Marescia of South Africa.
