  1. Go to Goldfish FAQ. I forget what it's called, but it's NOT ich. If it's male than this is it. It is something to do with males maturing. If you don't know if it's a male, still go to Goldfish FAQ, it explains that too.

  2. My mother's indoor tank had tetras in it, they developed spots on their fins and a few days later they had all developed finrot, and she lost them all. I'm not saying thats what is wrong with yours, but I'd get a picture of it, and take it to a vet that cares for fish and ask their opinion. Or you can find an online fish forum and you may find help there as well. Good luck

  3. Its ich, a parasite that will kill your fish and spread to the others It is no use separating it, just go buy med for it and treat the whole tank until none of your fish have white spots. Also, ich can not survive temps about 82F so if you turn the temp up to.....83F or above it will kill the parasite. This method works best and you don't have to use med. If you have fry or delicate species this method is best...and the least expensive if you already have a heater.

  4. I had ick a couple of days ago and it whiped my whole tank of fish out. Not good. They live on hosts and die without them. You should try to get something at your petstore to get rid of it before it spreads. Your fish may die though.

  5. The most likely explanation is Ich, which is a parasite.  It is easy to treat, luckily, if you begin medicating immediately.  Remove any activated carbon from the filter and begin treating with any of the common medicaitons like Quick Cure, Rid Ich, Aquarisol, Coppersafe, Maracide, Organicure, or similar products.  If using something that lists malachite green as an active ingredient, keep the tank dark, as it degrades with exposure to light.  Tetras are sensitive to medications, so use half the dose recommended on the bottle.  Also, keep the temperature right around 80* to speed up the treatment.  Continue medicating at least a week after all signs of the parasite are gone.
