FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship starting soon – Volleyball News
The much awaited 2011 FIVB Women’s Junior World Volleyball Championship is just about to begin in on Friday, July 22, as the cities of Lima and Trujillo are ready to stage the thrilling matches.
The sixteen best women’s volleyball squads from around the world have landed in Peru last night. As the teams setup their bases in the allotted cities, team mentors shared their thoughts regarding the 2011 FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship.
Natalia Málaga - Peru
The home team of Peru is supervised by Head Coach, Natalia Malaga. She said her team has spent a lot of time training and practicing for this competition. They have the same expectations like other participants of the event. Peru has the competitive edge
of playing in the presence of a supportive home crowd but Malaga didn’t overlook the fact that her team would be accompanied by the world’s top teams in the competition.
Robert Browning - U.S.A
The American Head Coach, Robert Browning, has the big task of leading his team to success as the U.S. is still without any medals in the FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship. He is quite confident about his team’s preparation as he stated: “We have the
same expectations like all the other teams. We hope to win every match. It’s going to be difficult; however, we are happy to be here. Tomorrow we are going to play against Belgium who was the winner in the Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore 2010.”
Julien Van De Vyver - Belgium
Belgian head coach also expressed his views that World Championship is going to be tough competition. He is determined to find a place in the top-eight teams of the tournament.
Ahmed Mohamed, Egypt
Women’s National Junior Team of Egypt is widely considered the underdogs in the competition. The team is headed by Coach Ahmed Mohammed, who has ambitions of winning at least one match during the World Championship. He stated that his players had a very
short time to prepare for the international event but still they will make their best effort to break the ice.
Gi-Ju Park - Korea
The South Korean team has Gi-Ju Park attached with them as head coach. He has a target to get the best output from his players and at least win two matches in the competition. Park hoped that his team will make it to the next round.
Kosatka Grzegorz – Poland
Polish Coach opined that the competition will be tough especially in their group, which is composed of strong teams. However, he is also eyeing a place in the next round of the tournament.
