FIVB confirms the 2012 spot for World League Finals – Volleyball News
This is high time that the whole international volleyball community is focused on the crucial Final Round of the 2011 FIVB World League.
The tournament was kicked off in the month of May and completed the early stage over six weeks’ period. The prelims of 2011 FIVB World League were hosted by different countries, while Poland was confirmed to host the Final Round. The city Gdansk is all set
to stage the Final Round from July 6-10. Hence, it is evident that 2011 FIVB World League is now a guest for a couple of more days. 
As the competition is covering its final stage, the FIVB lately released the news about host of Final Round of next year’s FIVB World League. Bulgarian Capital City Sofia has been named to host the final phase of 2012 FIVB World League. It is a great honour
for Bulgaria to host the Finals of 2012 FIVB World League before the start of great London Olympic Games. This is probably the first time in the history of World League, that FIVB has selected an Eastern European country for final stage of the competition.
Since the FIVB has finalised the decision, Bulgarian Men’s National Volleyball squad has got the surety to play in the Final Round of 2012 FIVB World League.
The country totally deserved it as the National Volleyball Federation of Bulgaria worked out a very good name and reputation in the recent years. They have been regarded as one of the most efficient members of Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB).
The country has great volleyball fan following and true volleyball enthusiasts. Mr. Francesco Franchi, the Council President of FIVB Volleyball World League and FIVB Board of Administration member opined that Bulgaria definitely has a great potential, which
can help International Volleyball Federation to carry out further sports development in the country. Moreover, Bulgaria is one of the leading countries to the 2012 London Olympics.
Mr Franchi further expressed his views about the decision in following manner. He stated. “The FIVB Volleyball World League is all about continuing the growth of volleyball around the world, so Bulgaria was a natural choice, especially considering their
standing in the game. Bulgaria has consistently shown it is at the top end of the sport and its fans have always been passionate so we expect a magical atmosphere when eight of the world’s best sides convene in Sofia next June and July.”
The 2012 FIVB Volleyball World League is scheduled to run from May 25 to July 1. Following the set pattern of FIVB, the preliminary robin round will be staged in different countries, while the Final Round will be held in a newly built 16,000 capacity venue
in Sofia, Bulgaria.
