FIVB drafts plan for 2012 Volley All Festival – Volleyball latest

Following an astonishing success of the FIVB’s Volley All Festival last year, which was attended by approximately 417,000 people around the world, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is once again up for the Volley All Festival in 2012.

The International volleyball governing authority has outlined the plan for upcoming edition of the event.

The Volley All Festival is an annual event of FIVB, which is held in different countries of the world. The main objective of the festival is to create opportunities for aspiring volleyball and beach volleyball players.

The first edition of the FIVB Volley All Festival was held in 2009 and now the project is heading into its fourth year. The Technical and Development Department of FIVB is trying to make it the biggest ever event of the year.

In 2011, a total of 53 countries participated in the festival and created awareness of volleyball and beach volleyball among masses. Around 150 media outlets joined hands with local organisers and spread the message of FIVB.

The African Volleyball Federation topped the list with 18 events of Volley All Festival in 2011. Likewise, Europe followed up with 15, while Asia held thirteen events. NORCECA and South America organised five with two events, respectively.

Overall, the worldwide Volley All Festival introduced thousands of youngsters to the challenging sport of volleyball in past three years. The Volley All Festival usually takes place in the final week of June and this time it is scheduled to be held within
the same timeframe.

The Volley All Festival has helped improve visibility and quality for sport in the previous years and FIVB hopes that it will attain more success this year.

“This is an opportunity for each National Federation to collaborate with the FIVB in a unique event where the National Federations’ initiative prevails. It is vital that national federations host such events to attract and endorse children and youth activities
as well as to promote volleyball and beach volleyball as a fun recreational activity which can be played both indoors and outdoors,” concluded the Technical and Development director Helgi Thorsteinsson on Tuesday.
