FIVB report implies increase in number of coaches – Volleyball news
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) has recently released the 2011 Coaches Report, which has revealed the considerable increase in certified FIVB indoor and beach volleyball coaches.
The official 2011 Coaches Report was released on Tuesday, March 13 from the headquarters of FIVB in Lausanne, Switzerland. The report, which has compiled the data from 2002 to 2010, is available on the FIVB website. The report has a total of 63 pages and
has precise information about all the Technical Seminars and Coaches Courses organised by FIVB in different parts of the world.
According to the report, a total of 253 courses were carried out in 114 countries in the word between 2002 and 2010. The courses included 70 per cent of Level 1, 28% of Level II, and 3 per cent of Level III. All five continents benefitted from these FIVB
Courses. A total of 4,915 aspiring coaches availed the unique opportunity and earned FIVB certification after successful completion.
Likewise, the International Volleyball Governing Authority (FIVB) organised 107 Technical Seminars in the same period. The FIVB Development Centres fully facilitated the participant of these courses and provided them with necessary training gear. In this
regard, the FIVB also got a lot of support from the Olympic Solidarity and local sports authorities in the particular areas.
The fundamental goal of the coaching courses was to ensure that the education of coaches and players lead to the practical advancement and development of volleyball. The FIVB provided quality education to the attendees and enabled them to bring-up competitive
teams.
All the courses and seminars followed strict rules in terms of organisation, duration, number of theoretical and practical lessons, and exams to grant the highest quality education possible. The courses improved the knowledge and competence of coaches and
introduced them to the most recent trends of the modern game of volleyball.
The National Federations also took a lot of help from these courses to organise the same learning activities on their own. The exchange of experiences and ideas brought immensely helped the coaches.
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) has firm ambition to continue with their mission of spreading the challenging sport of volleyball in every nook and cranny of the world.
