Question:

FLASH DRIVE PROBLEMS?

All summer I have been using my flash drive to save my summer schoolwork on it. It's happened before, but this time when i plugged in my flash drive into the computer, it just didn't show up as an icon or anything.

I thought that it might just have been the computer, so i tried it on another one..and then another one, but all of them seem to not read it at all.

I don't care much for the flash drive itself...it can always get another one. But I need the information that's inside. I absolutely need to get my schoolwork out.

  1. Try this, plug the flash drive in and go to my computer and look under removable disks.

There might be multiple disks with letters but double click on them and your flash drive and school work should pop up under one.

  2. your problem seems to be with your usb port - you will probably have to take the flash drive to a library and switch the info onto a cd rom, as long as that is working too lol!

  3. This same thing happened to me.  My motherboard had shortened out the usb controller.  I had to get a new motherboard.

The other thing I did was before I got another motherboard.  I got a usb card for my pci slot and they worked.
