  1. yer your gonna get side effects but they only last for the first few weeks, ask your doc for a relaxant like valium, thats what they have given me for the side effects and it works wonders

  2. Prozac has had some bad reviews in the past but it's very effective and can be really helpful for those who need it. Keep in mind though that it can take 2-3 weeks before you start to notice that it's helping so commit to it and take it as directed. Most folks tolerate it okay despite the long list of side effects. The most common side effects I hear about from people are insomnia, anxiety, fatigue, headache, and nausea. Give it a try--wait at least a month and if you have side effects there are always other options.

  3. Just try it for once and then you will see what does happen.

However anti-depressants give different feelings to different people

  4. Take your medication, however remain clued up on any possible side-effects that you may be having and if they are harmful see your doctor as soon as possible.

  5. Never had that one but Seroxat is of the same group, and I had a h**l of a time coming off that, I took it for 11yrs for depression following a brain tumor, I recommend if you can do without these medications then try relaxation or counseling. I hope you feel better soon.

  6. Were you able to discuss your concerns with your GP. If not I suggest that you do as there are many other alternatives than Fluoextine.

I took it for 12 long months and I felt absolutely awful on it and coming off of it was not a pleasant experience as it causes withdrawal symptoms even though I was taken off of them in tapered gradual doses replacing them gradually with Setraline.

I was given Setraline which suited me much better and the withdrawal symptoms were more bearable to handle. In fact I suffered hardly any at all with this drug.

It may well be that this drug (fluoextine) does suit you who knows and your doctor is the best person to talk to about this. He obviously had his reasons for prescribing this particular drug for you.

All the best to you my dear.

  7. Hello i once took fluoextine and i had a allergic reaction to it but dont be put of if you have been prescribed it you will probobly have no problems but if you do encounter any strange side affects afterwards contact your GP (Doctor)  immeaditely

    Hope This Helps

  8. Well Its the most effective pill Ive ever taken.

It depends on the individual though as what doctors prescribe and error before they find one that is most effective for the individual.

  9. It's worth trying because for those for whom it works, it works wonders. I tried it and it disagreed with me. My doctor then put me on citalopram, which is the first alternative the doctors try.

  10. I am prescribed Fluoxetine, don't worry about the side-effects, a few times I stopped on my own accord foolishly and that was the main time I had problems with those side-effects you read about, just take them as you are told and you will be fine.

  11. The only effects I've been aware of are the withdrawal symptons when you come off it- such as headaches etc. But no-one else I've known who has been on it has had any negative reactions to the drug.

  12. I'm on fluoxetine just now.  Don't believe everything you read, these reviews dramatise everything.  It does have side effects but these subside after taking it for a couple of months.  Every medication has side effects unfortunately.

I say give it a go for a couple of months and then see how you feel.

The positives of taking fluoxetine outweigh the negatives.

  13. All anti depresants have bad reviews 'cause some drugs don't suit some people.

Take the pills, see how you get on. If they don't suit you then go back to see the DR.
