I want to get some lettering on my foot, the words LIVE LOVE and LEARN- not too big just something for me... I just want to know from people who have had it done, what it feels like and if it really is that painful... Ive heard so many stories!! Otherwise im thinking about doing it on my hip or my lower back. I just want it somewhere where i can hide it if i dont want to show it.

Any help would be appreciated! Im getting it done in like a month or so!!!

  1. if you want a tattoo in a certain place then get it there. dont change the place just because of the pain. because you will always feel that it could have looked better...

the pain will only last as long as it is being done. afterwards it doesnt hurt.

I have 6 stars on my foot above my toes going diagonally if you see what i mean and i can honestly say it didnt hurt. i have 3 tattoos and the foot hurt the least.

I saw go for it and dont let anything or any1 hold you back!

    good luck

    xxxxx

  2. I think tattoos on feet are extremely s**y, but can also be hidden easily except if you like to wear a lot of sandals & go barefoot to show them off.. I heard the closer the bone is to the skin, the more sensitive and the higher the pain will be and less on fleshier locations. I agree and think that the top of the feet would be an average location on your skin for the tattoo and pain. You may want to get this on your hip since its wording, gives you a little more canvas to work with (even if you're skinny).  I Love pretty feet with tats to tho

  3. They all told me it was the worst spot to put one but it don't hurt any worse than any where else I think what you're wanting would look best on your foot anyway

  4. I have two friends who each have foot tattoos. One just has a little star on her foot down by her pinky toe... I went with her when she got it and she really didn't react too badly to it. She whined beforehand, but she said it didn't feel all that bad. My other friend got a bigger tattoo higher up her foot. She's the biggest wimp in the ENTIRE WORLD, yet she has ended up getting two more tattoos since them.

The one thing my friend found out is that tattoos on your foot can fade. Her star faded a lot and they told her that was why. Not sure what caused it, though.

  5. i just got a tattoo on my foot two weeks ago and i love it! i can hide it with shoes really easily if i want to. the pain wasn't too bad - i could definitely tell when it got close to a bone (like the area just before your toes), but the tattoo artist takes brakes to wipe off the ink every few seconds, so the pain is bearable. plus, tattoos take way less time then i thought they did, at least mine did!

    good luck!

  6. Put it on your lower back.  Foot tattoos have to be constantly touched up, they lose their color VERY quickly.  Mine has become more of a nuisance than enjoyable.  The artist I go to won't even do them anymore because mine has to be touched up so much.  Also, out of the 5 I have, this one was the MOST painful.  Definitely not worth it.

  7. Foot tattoos are cute and s**y.  The text tattoo design youre planning would definitely look good on your foot.  Pain is part of the process so you will eventually feel it no matter what part of the body youre going to have it done.  It's only temporary and its nothing you can't bear.  You will get through it so I'd say go for foot tattoos.

  8. My sister had one done on the top of her foot, five stars... She said it hurts pretty bad but I'd say all tattoos do. In my opinion if it's something that you want then you should be willing to go through the pain that it comes with, it's just how it works...

  9. Cute tattoo idea! :) It's going to really hurt if you get it on your foot! It depends on your pain tolerance though. If your re-considering your positioning of the tattoo you should get it on your neck or ribcage on the side or under your bust. You really shouldn't do it on your hip! It will stretch when/if you gain weight and ever get pregnant one day.

  10. Well, when I was getting my tattoos on my lower stomach, there was a lady in the room next to me getting one on her foot. And she was practically screaming and making comments like, "This is worse than childbirth!!" Now, I'm not saying it's going to feel like that for you, but just a warning: it will probably hurt, this is because there are so many bones in your foot and there's not really any flesh / fat in that area. It all depends on your pain tolerance, because honestly, some people are just really big babies. I sat for 6 hours getting the ones on my stomach done and I didn't complain once. If you really want it enough, you will be able to put up with it. And again, it's not like excruciating pain either. You will be able to handle it especially if you're just getting something small and simple, like those 3 words. However, I would probably suggest getting it on your lower back just because that will be a lot less painful and I think it would look good there as well. It's up to you though! I am sure you will be fine with wherever you decide to get it.
