FOSTER parenting QUESTION need help PLEASE!!!!!?

i live in michigan,,, and i have known a boy for 6 years,, he is now 16,,, and his does not want to be with his mother,,,she is an alcholholic, and drug user. and has NO PLACE to live,, he is with us right now,,,my question is,,, would i get paid to be his foster parent? i have 3 boys myself,,, and i can't afford another mouth to feed. I love him. and want him here,,, but i need money to take care of him,, he has been medically neglected for MANY years.

Yest but the state would have to declare his mother unfit and take him away from her custody.  His staying at your house is some sort of evidence but they need proof of what you say.  I wish you the best.

Yes. You will be paid as a foster parent. But only in this case.

If you  adopt him, you will not be paid...

You can get a medical card for him to cover insurance and may even get foodstamps or cash assistance designated for his care or the courts could make his mom pay you childsupport (although with her history she probably wouldn't pay).  You need to go through childrens services though and get it all setup legally and have a home visit and everything but at 16 they will be happy he has a home somewhere.

If you have yourself declared emergency or temporary foster parent he will get medical insurance through the state and money for his care.
