FREAKY dream I keep having. Help please???

When I was 8, my grandpa died from cancer. He was my best friend (sounds weird). He would take me everywhere, and I thought he was just the coolest person in the world, and when he died, it didn't really hit me that he was acutally GONE until i was 9 or 10. Well, about three months after he died, I started to have this reoccuring, freaky dream. The dream would start immediately in this basement like room. I would sit on a bed in the far right corner, hunched over into a ball. Everything would be pitch black, except for a barred window that let a small amount of moonlight in. There would be a door with stairs leading up to a hallway, and another door with a large walk in closet. The room seriously looked like a room from Saw or one in an insane asuylum. Well anyways, I would sit there crying until the closet door opens. A black cat would come out and jump up on my bed, and I'd pet it and it would pur, until its eyes turned red and it suddenly (this is kinda funny, but when I was little it scared the **** out of me) would grow massively and almost turn into a werewolf type creature. It would drag me on my stomach up the hallway, and then it would lead into what looked like a tiwsted version of my house. No one would be there. And then I'd wake up.

I stopped dreaming this after awhile. Now, I'm 15, and last night I had the same dream. Does anyone know what this means? Because I'm really starting to get a little wigged out. I wake up in cold sweats and stuff like that.

Help is much appreciated!! I know it's hard to interpret dreams =/

  1. you are insecure about something, maybe talking to a girl, or taking a test. start to relax more and enjoy life. Try to remember if you don't measure to someones expectations, don't worry about it. As long as you are true to yourself, you are the only one, at this time that counts. Hold your head up, and be proud. Doing this your dreams should calm down.

  3. Well I think that you had those dreams as a way to get rid of your anger and being scared. You put all those emotions towards your dreams.

If you thought about him the other night when you had the dream, then you were having those emothions again. therefore your dreams.

hope i helped. please keep in touch.

  5. That's very intense, and frightening. However, I'm assuming that you're dwelling over the past too much. Just try to forget about your Grandpa. Because the more you begin to think about him, the more that dream is going to continue to appear. :/

  6. I was told of a site that has a dream dictionary. I copied some things down that I thought may be of help to you. I added a few words of my own in quotations.

Basement - To dream that you are in a basement, symbolizes your unconscious mind and intuition. The appearance of the basement is an indication of your unconscious state of mind and level of satisfaction. To dream that the basement is in disarray and messy, signifies some confusion in which you need to sort out. It may also represent your perceived faults and shortcomings.

Darkness - To dream that darkness comes upon you, signifies failure in work you may attempt. Darkness is synonymous with ignorance, the unconscious, evil, death, and fear of the unknown.

Barred window - To see shut windows in your dream, signifies desertion and abandonment.

Light - To see light in your dream, denotes a clear mind, plain understanding, and insight. Light has been shed on a once cloudy situation or problem. You have found the truth to a situation or an answer to a problem. "So since there's very little light it's probably the opposite."

Door - To dream that you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another. In particular, a door that opens to the outside, signifies your need to be more accessible to others, whereas a door that opens into the inside, denotes your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery.

Stairs - To dream that you are walking up a flight of stairs, indicates that you are achieving a higher level of understanding. You are making progress into your spiritual/emotional/material journey. It also represents material and thoughts that are coming to the surface.

Hallway - To see a hallway in your dream, symbolizes the beginning of a path that you are taking in life or a journey into the unknown and self exploration. It represents spiritual, emotional, physical, or mental passages in your life. It is indicative of a transitional phase in your life.

Dark room - To see a dark, eerie or confining room, denotes that that you feel trapped or repressed in a situation.

Cry - To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions.

Closet - To see a closet in your dream, symbolizes something in your life that you have kept hidden. It may also signify an unveiling of previously hidden aspects of yourself.

Black Cat - To see a black cat in your dream, indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil, destruction, and bad luck. If you see a white cat, then it denotes difficult times.

"I don't really know what the red eyes can be but it doesn't sound good. Red eyes are usually associated with evil things. What is sounds like to me is there's this little thing you trust and show your affection to. Then it turns on you breaking  your trust. Someone you love leaving you. *shrugs* What you think?"

Werewolf - To see a werewolf in your dream, indicates that something in your life is not what it seems. It is symbolic of fear, repressed anger, and uncontrollable violence.

Fear - To dream that you feel fear, signifies that you achievements will not be as successful as you had anticipated. You are having anxieties in certain circumstances of your life.

Attacked - This signifies questions on your character and the need for you to defend yourself. You are feeling stressed, vulnerable and helpless. You may also be faced with difficult changes in your waking life.

House - To see a house in your dream, represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic represents your intellect, the basement represents the unconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity. If the house is shifting, then it suggests that you are going through some personal changes and changing your belief system.

Well I hoped this helped some. I included the address of the site I looked at for this info.
