Can someone tell me what this is all about??

I hear it all the time, especially now with the Olympics in Beijing & all but

I don't even know what this is about?? Are the Tibetans slaves or something?? :(

The Chinese government considers that Tibet is part of China.  The Dalai Lama (leader of the Tibet government in exile), wants more autonomy within China--as opposed to an independent nation.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation and propaganda about the issue of Tibet.

no! absolutely not. tibet is an independent country with its own rules and regulations. China want tibet to be part of china but tibetian people resist this notion.
