FSV Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel hoping for a positive season; praises new additions- Bundesliga news

his team will not fall short of expectations.
Mainz had a great season last term as they finished fifth in the Bundesliga with 58 points and qualified for the UEFA Europa League next season. Die Nullfunfer won 18 and lost 12 of the 34 matches played and were amongst the most
impressive sides of the season.
Tuchel claimed that his side will have to put in the hard work in the five week pre-season training. He stated that the team has been away from football from some time so this would be the best period for the players to gain their
fitness and form.
“We have 37 training days and we need it. There is no reason to mope I'm looking forward to the new season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The trainer also hailed the club’s new signings for the upcoming season and insisted that Mainz now have great depth in their squad with some quality players. The departures of star players like Andre Schurrle and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Fuchs-c9078
to Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke respectively have not affected the ambitious plans of the club.

and youth.
“We have found great substitutes prepared very intelligent players to play. When we do something else, then it must also sit. With each position occupied, we have a flexible player that can also hold several posts. We know now
only once and then view at your leisure, whether we still do something,” the German concluded.
Thomas Tuchel has earlier worked with the club’s U-19 side and was named the first-team coach in the summer of 2009.
