FSV Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed his satisfaction on the 3-3 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162. He claimed that his side played the better first-half but the performance was not consistent enough in the second period. He admitted
that a point in the end was a fair result for both sides.
Mainz drew 3-3 against FC Nuremberg at the easyCredit Stadium on Saturday. The home side scored two goals in the first period which were cancelled by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eric-Maxim-Choupo-Moting-c12712 later in the half. The visitors took
the lead after the interval through midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Ivanschitz-c5737 but the hosts made a strong comeback in the dying moments of the match to share the spoils.
Tuchel claimed that his side started the match really well and put in a spirited performance. He insisted that there were some mistakes made which resulted in the hosts scoring two goals quickly, pushing his side to the back foot.
“We got ourselves off to a good start, but out of nowhere conceded the first goal and then gave the ball away sloppily to concede the second soon after. At that point our game became very reserved and we didn't have the courage
we needed,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, the tactician hailed the team’s amazing comeback to secure a point at the end of the day and admitted that he was impressed with the display from the players. He remained hopeful that the team will continue to be consistent
in the future after a mixed start to the current campaign.
“But after we went 2-0 down we had nothing to lose and managed to create a few chances for ourselves and then took confidence from the two goals. The bottom line is that we drew the match, but the manner in which we performed today
makes me very happy,” he concluded.
FSV Mainz currently occupy the 14th spot on the Bundesliga standings table with only eight points. Die Nullfunfer have not won a game in the league since August 13 this year.
