FSV Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel urges his side to step up- Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 manager Thomas Tuchel has urged his side to step up and improve on their performances. He claimed that the team plays well but is still unable to get any results in the end so it is of no use. The tactician admitted that
he is fed up of opposition managers praising their style of play in the end as the approach does not matter if you lose.
Die Nullfunfer suffered their sixth defeat of the current campaign in the Bundesliga when they lost to Werder Bremen 3-1 this Saturday. They opened the scoring in the first-half but conceded three goals later in the match to lose
again at the Coface Arena. The club has now gone nine weeks without a win in the league and the pressure on the manager is growing every week.
Tuchel claimed that he is tired of listening from everyone that his side was unfortunate to lose or get a draw as they played some really good football. He insisted that results are needed as the club is sliding down on the Bundesliga
standings table. He added that the team desperately needs a win to bring the positive mentality back into the team.
“We have been saying the same rubbish for nine weeks and at the end of the day, we have gone nine weeks without a win. We are not rewarding ourselves and that is the truth; that is what counts and we have got to face up to it,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The boss admitted that the players surely need some confidence in the coming weeks as they cannot afford any results going against them anymore.
“Each week the opposition's coach praises us in the press conference and says how great we were. I don't care about anything else now. We just need to try and get some self-confidence back for next week to really be able to believe
in a win and not just talk about it,” he concluded.
FSV Mainz will next face in-form http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 on Friday, November 4, at the Coface Arena in search of their third win in the league.
