FSV Mainz upset Bayern Munich 3-2 - Bundesliga News
Having beaten Bayern on Sunday in an enthralling Bundesliga encounter, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 officials have expressed delight at their team’s performance. The players from both camps also expressed their opinions about the game.
Mainz played hosts to Bayern on Sunday, November 27, at Coface Arena and emerged as 3-2 winners. Goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 van Buyten’s brace wasn’t enough to help Bayern draw level with
the O-Fives.
Despite starting the game as underdogs, Mainz took an early lead through Ivanschitz in the 11th minute. Bayern were forced onto the back foot very early in the piece and weren’t able to equalise before the commencement of the second half.
Daniel van Buyten’s 56th minute strike levelled matter for the visitors. Caligiuri made the score line 2-1 with his 66th minute goal, and Bungert made it 3-1 eight minutes later.
Bayern started pressing a lot harder and staged another comeback on the 79th minute mark, once against through Van Buyten. However, the Bavarian giants couldn’t find the third goal and suffered their third loss in the last five league games.
As a result, Bayern have slipped down to third place on the table, one point adrift of Borussia Dortmund and Gladbach.
The O-Fives coach, Thomas Tuchel, expressed delight at his team’s victory and showered praise on the goal scoring trio. He told that his team practiced intensely over the past two weeks for this particular game.
Tuchel added that postponement of the game against Koln last week allowed his team ample time to work out a strategy.
While talking to reporters after the game, the coach further stated:
"Today we were cool, we were smart, we were clever. You have to pay the team a huge compliment, we're on the right path."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929, Die Roten skipper, reckoned that his team lacked intent against Mainz and eventually ended up second best. He also showed disappointment at Bayern’s fourth league loss this season and urged his teammates to get their acts together before the
important game against Werder Bremen next week.
The skipper concluded his remarks by saying:
"We made it easy for Mainz. You have to give it everything. Otherwise you lose an away game like this.”
